Antique Metal Barrel Top SOLD

  Top of the line antique barrel top trunk manufactured by SECOR.  This antique trunk has a full metal exterior casing, all of its original cast metal hardware and has been refit with a new pair of custom made leather handles.  The interior is lined with a blended fabric pinstripe satin and the interior lid has 2 separate compartments along with a matching design wooden tray that is removable, also with 3 compartments, 2 of which are covered.  An extremely elaborate and fancy old trunk that is large and commanding and very well built.  A perfect centerpiece for any room in the home or office, working particularly well at the foot of a bed.  Also useful for display and hospitality applications.  Probably once used for storing cherished belongings on elegant steamships, this antique barrel top trunk is a textbook example of the style. Dating from approximately 1880, it is composed of hardwood slats with the original patinated metal hardware and new leather side handles. A sumptuous way to store family heirlooms or bring a sense of history to any traditional décor.
